Metalworking

Metalworking Department

In the metal blanking department, with the help of presses equipped with blanking moulds, Abazia S.p.A. is able to produce terminals, die-cast Pb clamps and terminals for electrical systems in the automotive sector..

Non-ferrous alloys (aluminium, brass, copper, zinc)

With special molds-shears, Abazia S.p.A. realizes bus-bars. They are made in tinned or pre-tinned pure copper and used on power distribution units (like hard-wired, with the solution of blanked circuits).

In this department, Abazia S.p.A. also do molding and co-molding for very important customers in the automotive sector; specifically cars, trucks and tractors of the most prestigious national and international brands.

An Abazia S.p.A. historical article is the 99.9% pure copper power terminal, used in power cables with a section of 16 to 70 mm2. These terminals are made from a copper tube, cut and flared with equipment specially designed by Abazia. The final phase of the process is electrochemical tinning.

Abazia S.p.A. supplies different types of tinned copper tubes, varying in diameter and length: it follows a versatility that allows customers to use the tubes in their manufacturing processes to make terminals coined on the cable or on a set of multiple cables of smaller section, the so-called “coining masses”.

Moreover, Abazia S.p.A. realizes copper eyelet terminals that can be used in electric energy meters on 70 or 90 mm2 section cables.

Abazia S.p.A. also produces brass shear terminals, then crimped onto battery cables, bulk cables, and copper braids. Moreover, it realizes fusible lamellas, in pure zinc, for various amperages.
